The Idea

Katrineholm’s place brand has been given a visual identity that reflects the city’s spirit of exploration and creativity. The concept is inspired by the hand meeting a blank page – a symbol of curiosity and forward motion. Hand-drawn lines and shapes form the foundation of the identity and are also present in the logo, where the letters A, E, and O take on these distinctive forms.

The identity is flexible and versatile, designed to adapt to different contexts and formats. The color palette is rooted in the city’s nature and history, with Fogelstad Blue standing out as a tribute to the civil rights movement and its pioneering work. The typography contrasts with the organic forms, adding structure and clarity to the expression.

The result is a visual identity that bridges tradition and innovation – a living interpretation of Katrineholm as a place where history and creativity meet.
